IDLO Sharing Network Code of Conduct

IDLO is an international intergovernmental organization and, as such, it works with a myriad of different peoples, languages, cultures, customs, and traditions. It is self-evident that genuine respect for all persons is fundamental for all members of the IDLO Sharing Network (SN) as well as the right of others to hold different opinions and follow diverse cultural beliefs. Continuous sensitivity to the way in which events and statements may affect others is required together with avoidance of expressions that could be interpreted as biased or intolerant.
The IDLO Sharing Network is an on-line community where you can meet others involved in the areas of Rule of Law and development. Without hampering free discussion, any behavior or statement that is considered offensive by persons with a particular cultural background should be avoided. We would like to ensure that this is a place where people respect the rights and the feelings of others and we therefore ask that you follow these few simple rules:
1.	You are required to provide accurate information about yourself and accept sole and full responsibility for this.
2.	You should not enter information on behalf of another person. 
3.	You will be creating a personal user name and password so please make sure that you protect them from unauthorized use by others. 
4.	When you post comments, upload any content on the website or provide it via email or when you participate in online discussions, you should:
a)	Remember that IDLO, as intergovernmental organization, is apolitical and applies the highest standards of neutrality and transparency. Your comments and contents should therefore be in line with these standards. 
b)	Make sure your comments and the content you post are NOT: 
i)	Inappropriate (derogatory, defamatory, offensive, threatening, depicts violence, invasive of another�s privacy, obscene or sexually explicit);
ii)	Discriminatory, based on race, national or ethnic origin, color, religion, age, gender, sexuality, marital status, family status, or disability;
iii)	Unlawful or harmful (violates or solicits the violations of local, state, national, or international law);
iv)	Infringing the rights of any third party, including but not limited to intellectual property rights.
IDLO is not responsible for the conduct of the members of the IDLO Sharing Network, nor for the content posted or uploaded by them. IDLO will do its utmost to ensure that all the members adhere to and respect this Code of Conduct.  IDLO, at its own discretion, will remove from the website within 48 hours any content that it may deem inappropriate or not in conformity with this Code. In addition, it may terminate your account or ability to access and use the network.
